Apple making Siri more intelligent

As I said in my earlier post mobile phone companies bringing more and more AI in their mobile devices and making it more intelligent.

Now recently Apple has announced iOS6 in which they have made SIRI more intelligent ever.

According to Apple SIRI understand what you say and Siri helps you do the things you do every day.

Siri is intelligent personal assistant that helps you get things done just asking. Siri uses voice recognition algorithms to categorize your voice into one of the dialects or accents it understands.

Following is the list of some services that Siri support.

2. Reminders

3.Notes

4.Music

5. Messages

6. Contacts

7. Web search

8. Alarms and clock

9. Mail

9. Maps.

Siri made me curious that how really it works and what is really behind it.

Siri uses the processing power of the dual-core A5 chip in iPhone 4S, and it uses 3G and Wi-Fi networks to communicate rapidly with Apple’s data centers. So it can quickly understand what you say and what you’re asking for, and then quickly return a response.

Siri use speech to text analyzer software to convert speech to text. So there are chances that it will not work in every scenario for example it will not support all type of English accent. Even in the Apple site it is mentioned that it support only some English dialect.

 Its functionality will be limited to silent places, if you will go to some crowded place Siri would not responsive that much. According Apple Siri is still in Beta phase.

So we can expect that it will be much better in final version and it will be more responsive. Apple is very tight lipped about technology underneath. They are not going reveal much more about Siri.

Earlier also many speech reorganization software got failed many companies tried to bring it but almost all got failed in that part.

Apple wants to take this technology to the next level. Hope in near future we will see this AI technology in every part of life from morning till night, that means from making breakfast, starting TV, washing your cloth, controlling your music system according to your mood.

It seems that they will develop it more so that it can be integrated to laptop, TV, web browser and many more places. In future it is going to us help in every part of our life like buying cloths online.

In near future other companies would like to give competition to Apple. Nokia, Google, Samsung and Sony would have definitely starting working on AI technology. We have lot more to see in AI side. Siri is just tip of the iceberg.
